Music as a communal experience

Tonight I played with my new band members for the first time at Mosaic Cafe in Redwood City. Before the show started, while we were on stage practicing and sound checking, I realized how wonderful it is to share music with others, with others. It's also wonderful when I get to share music while performing on my own, but it really is a very different experience getting to perform and feed off of the energy of others.

Music is really intended to bring people together, and I feel a new sense of joy getting to make music with other wonderful souls. I had a similar revelation when I joined the singing group Talisman 4 years ago. Something special happens when music is coming from the hearts of many.

Kickstarter Project!

This morning I launched my Kickstarter project to promote and raise funds to record new music for a new EP!

Kickstarter is a fundraising platform for creative projects where supporters can collaborate with artists to fund those projects and then receive awesome rewards in return! My project is specifically to raise money to record, mix, master, and manufacture a new 7-song EP entitled, Lights That Lead Home.

Worried about the risk? Fear not! Kickstarter is great because as a supporter, your pledge will only be processed if the project is 100% funded.

I am really excited about the new songs I've written and I really hope that the Kickstarter is successful so I can share what I love most.

If you want to be a part of this collaboration with me, click on the link at the bottom of the website or go to www.tinyurl.com/CEKickstarter to learn more about the rewards and listen to new song demos!

Ambrosia

I was at the California Ave. farmer's market the other day and during my search for delicious local fruits and veggies, I saw a little white sign:

"Cat and Kitten Adoption"

Now, you must understand that I grew up in a house filled with animals. For me, a house is not a home until there is an animal friend living there. Thus, I immediately recognized the emptiness I felt in my new apartment and went over to find myself a kitty companion! I ended up going to the Humane Society in Milpitas and connected right away with a sweet and shy blonde tabby kitten named Ambrosia.

Welcome to the family, Ambrosia!

Graduation

Today I am officially graduated. It has been a long four years, filled with many amazing experiences, but I am glad to be entering a new chapter of my life now.

I am most excited to have more time to write. With school and exams I have been feeling a bit smothered, and with that chapter closing, I can really devote my energy to my music again.
